A feline-hating fiend is lopping the ears off cats in the UK, police said.
The latest victim — named Patch — was one of at least five mutilated cats discovered in the past two weeks in Norwich, The Sun reported.
Sarah Cutting, 35, said she found the stray cat on her doorstep Tuesday with both his ears chopped off. She rushed him to Taverham Veterinary Hospital, where he underwent surgery and is on the mend, according to the outlet.
The same night, Cutting returned home and discovered an even unluckier victim — a dead cat she believes was slain by Patch’s attacker, the outlet reported.
“The person doing this is picking any cat and then abusing them, it’s scary and disgusting,” Cutting told the outlet.
Patch’s attack came nearly two weeks after a cat named Bubba’s ears were sliced off in the same town, the BBC reported.
Police said the 5-year-old tabby was slashed April 14 and was found with deep gashes near his Norwich home.
“The cat’s ears had been cut off and there were also cuts to the cat’s lower back and fur removed,” authorities said.
His owner also brought him to Taverham, where he received “intensive treatment,” according to the clinic.
Authorities said they’re searching for the sicko involved in the series of cat slashings.
The local vet who treated Patch and Bubba issued a warning to cat owners.
“Due to the frequency, location and nature of the injuries we can conclude humans are carrying out these attacks,” Taverham Veterinary wrote on Facebook.
“We advise that everyone remain vigilant, keep your cats safely indoors if you can — especially at night, and if you find an injured cat, call your vet and seek treatment straight away,” the vets said.
