A drunk, naked Navy man was arrested for running around a Virginia theme park parking lot trying to break into cars — after he got into a scuffle with bystanders and a cop trying to cuff him, police said.

The wild ordeal unfolded after a police officer in James City County responded to reports of a naked man in the Italy and Germany parking lots of Busch Gardens in Williamsburg late Friday, WTKR reports.

The man, later identified as Adrian Gilbert Cardenas, had been trying to break into parked cars outside the theme park and was held by bystanders until officers arrived. Cardenas then fought with the officer and bystanders as part of an effort to run away, police said.

A quick-thinking witness took footage of the incident, showing Cardenas on the ground as a cop tried to arrest him while several bystanders assisted the officer. Other people leaving the park also looked on as Cardenas eventually was subdued, according to the video obtained by WVEC.

Cardenas ultimately was taken into custody with the help of witnesses after the officer deployed his Taser. He was then hospitalized due to intoxication by alcohol and narcotics, police said.

Cardenas is stationed in Norfolk on the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush, WTKR reports. He was later charged with felony assault on a law enforcement officer, indecent exposure, intentional damage and obstruction of justice.

Cardenas was booked into the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail, where he was no longer in custody as of Monday, jail records show.
