Federal and local authorities revealed Friday they’re investigating a “new message” possibly connected to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie – as law enforcement raced back to the missing 84-year-old’s Arizona home and closed off her block.

The latest message was sent earlier in the day to Arizona-based CNN affiliate KOLD 13 News – the same outlet that previously received one of the purported ransom notes that demanded millions in bitcoin for the return of Savannah Guthrie’s mom.

KOLD 13 News forwarded the message to law enforcement, who is “actively inspecting the information provided” in it to determine its authenticity, according to a joint statement from the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

A correspondent with KOLD 13’s sister station said that the message was received at 11:45 a.m. local time through a “service that cannot be traced back” – just like the suspected ransom note.

Mary Coleman, an anchor with KOLD 13 who saw the original ransom letter, added that the new message was sent from a different IP address, but “contains something the senders seem to think will prove to investigators they’re the same people who sent the first note.”

It’s unclear what details were included in the new message.

The Post has reached out to the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department for more information.

Shortly after news of the latest message emerged, investigators descended onto Nancy’s Tucson property for a “follow-up” at the house and surrounding areas and closed off the road, the sheriff’s department said.

On Tuesday, KOLD 13 received a suspected ransom note that demanded millions of dollars in bitcoin for Nancy’s safe return.

The authors of the letter did not include a point of contact, but they did list a real physical address where the ransom could be deposited.

The full details of the note have not been disclosed by the outlet or law enforcement, but Coleman saw it said that it included “specifics that only Guthrie’s abductor might know.”

It also highlighted two strict deadlines – one for 5 p.m. Thursday, which has already passed, and another for Monday.

TMZ, which also received a ransom letter, reported that missing Thursday’s deadline would lead to a change in demands — and that there would be more dire consequences if Monday’s passed with no agreement.

TMZ boss Harvey Levin said the note claimed that Nancy was “safe but scared” and “knows exactly what the demand is” for her freedom.

Nancy’s children, “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, Annie Guthrie, and Cameron Guthrie, have shared two video statements begging for proof that their ailing mother is still alive

“We need to know, without a doubt, that she is alive, and that you have her. We want to hear from you, and we are ready to listen. Please, reach out to us,” Savannah said in an emotional appeal shared Wednesday evening.

Nancy, who suffers from health conditions that require her to take daily medication to stay alive, was last seen Saturday evening.
