Note to self: Don’t mess with people from Pacific Beach.
Residents in the San Diego neighborhood teamed up on Thursday to take down a driver who repeatedly rammed his truck into several of their parked cars for no apparent reason.
Cellphone video captured at the scene and obtained by NBC 7 showed the driver — who was behind the wheel of a Dodge RAM pickup — plowing into numerous vehicles before eventually braking his axle.
The residents can be seen jumping into action moments later.
“He was running into all of these different cars,” said witness James Phillips, the person who shot the video. “A couple of guys actually got into the car, pulled the keys out of the ignition and yanked him out of the car.”
A group of men, described as neighbors living along the same street where the crashes went down, reportedly held the man on the ground until police arrived.
Phillips told NBC that his girlfriend’s car was one of the ones that got hit, along with his. One of the vehicles almost came careening into their house.
“Literally within four inches of our front window,” he said.
At least one person was treated for injuries, but expected to be okay. The driver was reportedly transported from the scene in an ambulance. It’s unclear if he was criminally charged.
