The return of ALF could be coming to Connecticut — in the form of a 3-foot-tall, $10,000 bronze statue.

Ray Willis, 36, of New Haven, launched a fundraising campaign Tuesday to commemorate the friendly Alien Life Form who starred in the late 1980s NBC sitcom with a permanent likeness in a city park or on publicly accessible private land in honor of the puppet’s creator, Paul Fusco, a New Haven native.

“This ALF sculpture will last thousands of years,” Willis told The Post. “It will be to New Haven what the pyramids are to Giza.”

Willis said he’s discussed the otherworldly proposal with the director of the city Parks, Recreation and Trees Department and other potential public land stakeholders. Another possible location for the statue is on the New Haven-Hamden town line.

“It’s too early to discuss where it might go, but eventually, we’ll have a choice rather than difficulty in erecting the statue,” Willis said. “We’ve got a lot of options for this.”

Willis’ effort has raised $250 from 31 contributors as of Thursday. He started the campaign out of his “love for New Haven” and a desire to put Fusco’s brainchild alongside the likes of its other native sons, including actor Paul Giamatti and singer Michael Bolton.

If ultimately erected, Willis said, the statue would become synonymous with the Bronze Fonz statue of actor Henry Winkler in Milwaukee and the “RoboCop” likeness in Detroit memorializing the cop-turned-cyborg from the 1987 hit movie.

“It will be my legacy, my lasting gift to the people of New Haven,” Willis continued. “A lot of people think it’s facetious and that’s what stopping additional funds coming through, but it has a lot of support. People love ALF.”

Laurence Grotheer, a spokesman for New Haven Mayor Toni Harp, said any proposal would need to be approved by the city Board of Alders before a bronze alien of any kind takes shape.

“I would characterize the initiative as in its very early stages,” Grotheer told The Post. “And its approval would be an early part of that process.”
