It’s the Big Freeze-y.
New Orleans residents are making the most of a rare snow storm and frigid temperatures that turned French Quarter streets into an ice hockey rink on Tuesday.
Video posted to social media by Fox8 reporter Olivia Vidal shows a man with a pair of skates, a hockey stick, and a puck deking down an ice-covered Canal Street in the Crescent City.
One of the busiest blocks in all of New Orleans, Canal Street is empty and completely quiet save for the single skater and a videographer who is taking in the rare sight.

The Big Easy was blanketed with historic snowfall Tuesday — Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport received 8 inches, the most in a single storm since records were first kept in 1948, according to the National Weather Service.
Winter Storm Enzo dumped several inches of snow across several southern states including Texas, Florida, and Louisiana.

More snow is expected to fall along the Southeast coast overnight into Wednesday, with further freezing conditions expected to add to the headaches, or delight, of snow-virgin southerners.
