An upstate New York mom took her daughter to the Route 91 music festival in Las Vegas for her 21st birthday — but ended up shielding her child from bullets when a madman opened fire on the show.

Webster woman Jennifer Bryan and her daughter were near the stage at the festival Sunday when the bullets started raining down from the gunman’s perch at the nearby Mandalay Bay Hotel, she told a local ABC affiliate.

“We saw a girl go down right behind us, probably 10 feet away, so at that point I knew that we couldn’t sit there. We had to move,” Bryan told 13 WHAM.

They ran to a tent, and Bryan lay on top of her daughter, then used a big piece of metal as a shield until they could flee somewhere safer, she told the network.

“He just kept reloading and reloading and reloading — it just seemed like it was never-ending,” she said.

Bryan says she still hasn’t slept since the attack.

“You don’t think, going to some country festival, that you’re going to end up in this kind of tragedy,” she told 13 WHAM.
