New Zealand police revealed on Thursday that when they charged the mosque terror suspect with the murder of one individual — authorities inadvertently designated a person who is still alive as the sole deceased victim.

Australian Brenton Tarrant, 28, was charged with a single, representative count of murder after 50 people were killed in Friday’s attack on two mosques in Christchurch.

On Thursday, police said they made a mistake on the charging document.

Cops have spoken to the person who was incorrectly labeled as the murder victim. They will update the charging documents to change the name.

The name of the single person charged was not released.

In addition to the single murder charge, Tarrant is expected to face legal penalties for the killing of the other 49 people who perished in the attack on the mosques.
