WASHINGTON — Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich says President Obama has Republicans longing for the days of Bill Clinton.

Gingrich’s old foe Clinton stands in “amazing” contrast to “the inability of President Obama to work with anybody,” he said on John Catsimatidis’ AM 970 radio show.

Gingrich clashed with Clinton so much that the government shut down in 1995 and 1996.

Now, Gingrich is so angry over Obama’s immigration action, he said, “The president lied to the American people. What he is doing is not just prosecutorial discretion. He’s creating a whole new program . . . without any authorization.”
