It’s a tough job — and nobody wants to do it.

The search to fill the vacancy left by ousted FBI Director James Comey has stalled after at least three potential candidates withdrew from the running.

US Appeals Court Judge Merrick Garland, whose nomination to the Supreme Court last year was never taken up by Senate Republicans, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) and Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn (R-Texas) were mentioned as contenders and all three say they’re not interested.
