A North Carolina woman spent her 100th birthday behind bars, by choice.

Ruth Bryant had always wanted to become a jailbird — and the local sheriff in Roxboro cheerfully obliged in fulfilling her unusual bucket list item for her milestone birthday.

“I’m in the jailhouse now! I finally got here!” laughed Bryant as she was processed through jail, dancing as she was issued an orange jumpsuit and mugshot for the ages, WRAL reported Thursday.

At least four deputies at the Person County Sheriff’s office were in on the gag, storming the Cambridge Hills Assisted Living Center where Bryant resides and charging her with indecent exposure.

“Are you Miss Bryant?” one deputy said on camera.

“It all depends on what you want!” she said.

The feisty centenarian was hauled off in cuffs — but not without a fight. Deputies dodged her kicks as she was placed in a patrol car.

“Don’t kick me; I’ve got a bad knee,” said a deputy.

“I’ve got two bad knees!” she shot back as her daughter, Marian Oakley, looked on in disbelief.

“I know that she is a hundred years old, but I didn’t know that they’d be going this far,” Oakley told the outlet.

Bryant was stripped of her jewelry and given one phone call before spending a few minutes behind bars.

She left the patrol car offering the deputies their next assignment.

“The people who make these low damn seats in all these cars,” Bryant said. “You ought to arrest every one of them.”
