An “absolutely selfless” Scottish nursing home worker, who went viral for a heartwarming TikTok dancing video with a 102-year-old resident, has been found dead, according to a new report.

Jeanette McKenna, 53, who worked at the Whitecraigs Care Home in Thornliebank for 10 years, was discovered in her home on May 7, the Herald reported.

She became an internet sensation only weeks earlier when a video showing her and another woman dancing with the centenarian, who used a walker, started circulating online.

A spokesman for Police Scotland told the outlet they responded to the woman’s home after receiving a call from “a member of the public.”

“On arrival, officers found the body of a 53-year-old woman within the property,” authorities said.
“The death is being treated as unexplained but there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.”

It’s not known yet if she was infected by the coronavirus, but the Barrhead Housing Association property where McKenna lived was due to be deep-cleaned this week.

“The situation at this address is absolutely tragic and we would always encourage all our tenants and residents to seek medical help if unwell,” Shirley Robison, chief executive of the association, told the outlet.

A spokeswoman for the Whitecraigs home told the paper McKenna was “a hugely popular carer, colleague and friend for the past 10 years.”

“She was absolutely selfless and gave love and support to all residents and families within her care,” she said. “She will be greatly missed by everyone at Whitecraigs. Our heartfelt condolences are with her family, friends and loved ones at this difficult time.”
