The Obama administration is livid over Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s planned visit to Congress in March — and now, “there will be a price” to pay, according to reports.

The visit, arranged by House Speaker John Boehner without the consultation of the White House, is a major snub to Obama, Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported.

“He spat in our face publicly and that’s no way to behave,” a senior American official said.

“Netanyahu ought to remember that President Obama has a year and a half left to his presidency, and that there will be a price.”

Obama warned the Israeli leader in a Jan. 12 phone call to stop urging US lawmakers to back sanctions against Iran and that he’d veto any such bill because it could sabotage nuclear negotiations with the country.
