Reflecting on his own single-parent upbringing, President Obama came to New York Monday to launch a charity aimed at helping opportunity-starved young minority men.

“I grew up without a dad,” the president recalled. “I grew up lost sometimes and adrift.”

Obama spoke at Lehman College in The Bronx and rolled out details of My Brother’s Keeper Alliance, a nonprofit that aids boys and young men with mentors, educational programs and job placement.

Organizers have already secured more than $80 million in donations from major companies, including American Express and News Corp., which owns The Post

It was a busy day in the Big Apple for Obama, who also taped an appearance on David Letterman’s show and appeared at two fund-raisers for Democrats.
