Obama administration officials scrambled to distribute evidence of Russian hacking to influence the 2016 presidential election, fearing the incoming Trump White House would destroy the paper trail, the New York Times reported.

Officials ordered raw intel analyzed and compiled into reports with low security clearance so they’d be easily accessible, and they asked pointed questions during intelligence briefings, knowing answers would be archived.
