Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez skipped out on Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign kickoff in Brooklyn — but wasn’t invited in the first place, the socialist Democratic darling admitted in a new interview.

Asked whether the fellow lefty extended an offer to have her at his rally on Saturday, Ocasio-Cortez said, “He didn’t actually.”

“We’ve been in active conversation,” she continued in the interview on Sunday with NY1’s “Inside City Hall” host Errol Louis. “I’ve been speaking with him and several other 2020 candidates.”

In the same sit-down, she said it was far too early to endorse anyone.

“I think they have really understood and respected the fact that I want to wait until we get a little bit closer,” the freshman congresswoman explained. “I think we need to have a conversation as a party. We have to have real conversations about income inequality, criminal justice, about immigration, about the environment. And I think that endorsing very early in this race prevents us from having that kind of conversation.”
