O.J. Simpson — who became one of the most infamous figures in the US during his murder trial in the ’90s — has died after a cancer battle.

The former NFL star died Wednesday in Las Vegas, his family confirmed. He was 76.

Caitlyn Jenner, whose ex-wife, Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner was best friends with Nicole Brown Simpson, Simpson’s ex-wife whom he was acquitted of murdering in “the trial of the century,” was one of the first celebrities to publicly react.

The family of Ron Goldman, whom Simpson was also accused and then acquitted of murdering alongside Brown, called Simpson’s death is “no great loss to the world.”

Misinformed fans — and/or trolls — are flooding the comments sections of Khloe Kardashian's most recent X and Instagram posts with "condolences" after OJ Simpson's death, based on the unfounded conspiracy theory that he is her real father.

Though both Kardashian and Simpson have vehemently denied the rumor, with the reality star and Good American founder slamming “a–holes” and “haters" for it as far back as 2017, apparently this one still has legs.

Kardashian has not publicly commented on his death.

Damn. R.I.P OJ

— Ebron85 (@Ebron85) April 11, 2024

Nor am I filled with sorrow, he was not a good person who lived a post pro football life that was obviously horrible and abhorrent but I do think without his football career the NFL wouldn't be where it is today. I think that's a worthy opinion. https://t.co/ZgJZ5voEf8

A history of OJ Simpson’s relationship with the Kardashians

By Nicki Cox

The Kardashian clan had history with OJ Simpson long before becoming one of the most famous families in America.

Robert Kardashian, the patriarch and late ex-husband of Kris Jenner, was famously part of the legal team that defended Simpson during his sensationalized 1994–95 murder trial.

Simpson was charged with the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. However, the former football star was controversially acquitted thanks to his legal “Dream Team,” drawing a wedge between Kardashian and Jenner.

After the attorney’s death in 2002 from esophageal cancer, the Kardashian family did their best to sever ties with the retired Buffalo Bills player before his death on April 10, 2024.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre expressed condolences Thursday on the death of former NFL star OJ Simpson — but made no mention of the two people he was accused, and sensationally acquitted, of killing nearly 30 years ago.

"Our thoughts are with his families [sic] during this difficult time — obviously with his family and loved ones," Jean-Pierre said of Simpson. "And I'll say this, I know that they have asked for some privacy. And so we're going to respect that. And I'll just leave it there."

OJ Simpson once bragged about a sexual encounter with Kris Jenner – who was then married to one of his closest friends.

The former NFL star and convicted felon – who died Wednesday at age 76 – claimed to have had sex with Jenner in a hot tub sometime in the early 1990s, his former manager Norman Pardo claimed.

“‘OJ said he stood up, pulled his shorts down and, I’ll give you exactly what he said: ‘Her eyes bugged out of her head and I f–ked that B until I broke her,’” Pardo alleged in a clip from his documentary “Who Killed Nicole?” obtained by Page Six in 2019.

Goldman family once went on a book tour to promote OJ’s ‘hypothetical’ account of killing Ron and Nicole: report

By Steve Janoski

The book tour was possibly the strangest ever launched: A murder victim’s family promoting a work written by the acquitted suspect about how he would have done the killing — you know, if he’d wanted to.

But truth was always stranger than fiction for those captured in OJ Simpson’s dark, shadowy orbit.

And Ron Goldman’s family learned that the hard way 17 years ago, when they traveled to London to push a book that supposedly contained OJ’s version of what happened that fateful night of June 12, 1994, according to the Guardian.

OJ Simpson, who died Wednesday at the age of 76, had a varied career in Hollywood as an actor and a pitchman before his 1994 trial for double murder in the deaths of ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman.

The handsome former Buffalo Bills star with the marquee good looks, nicknamed “The Juice,” was at the epicenter of pop culture for his movie, TV and commercial roles throughout the ’70s, ’80s and early ’90s. It seemed, during those days, that you couldn’t turn on your TV without seeing one of Simpson’s Hertz commercials where — as a spokesman for the rental car company — he ran and careened through airports, nor ignore his big-screen work, most notably in the comedic “Naked Gun” movies starring Leslie Nielsen.

Famed victims' attorney Gloria Allred, who represented Nicole Brown Simpson's family, reacts to OJ's death

By Elizabeth Karpen

Gloria Allred, who represented Nicole Brown Simpson's family during OJ Simpson's murder trial in one of the now-famous victims' rights attorney's first big cases, told TMZ that the former NFLer's death is a reminder of how the justice system failed women in abusive relationships.

"Simpson's death reminds us that the legal system even 30 years later is still failing battered women, and that the power of celebrity men to avoid true justice for the harm that they inflict on their wives or significant others is still a major obstacle to the right of women to be free of the gender violence to which they are still subjected," she said.

Allred also spoke to New York's ABC/7, saying, "I don't mourn for O.J. Simpson, I do mourn for Nicole Brown Simpson and her family and they should be remembered."

"What was important was that there was some form of justice in the civil justice system that found that he was in fact liable for her wrongful death and the wrongful death of Ronald Goldman," she added.
