Disgraced political journalist Olivia Nuzzi likened now-Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to fictional boxer Rocky Balboa during the 2024 campaign — and even advised him on what to wear for an event, according to a purported “strategy memo” she penned for him.

The jaw-dropping note was published early Wednesday by Nuzzi’s former fiancé, Ryan Lizza, on his Telos News substack as proof that she had, in his words, “crossed the line from journalist to political operative” while engaging in an emotional affair with the Kennedy scion.

The rambling memo from Nuzzi, now 32, advised Kennedy, now 71, on how to counter-program the June 27, 2024, debate between former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden — in which RFK Jr. had been barred from participating due to poor polling.

“It sucks and it’s unfair that CNN and the major parties colluded to exclude you, but you have to deal with that reality as it is,” she wrote before turning to the nuts and bolts.

“Not to be all Naomi Wolf advising Al Gore, but I would wear a (blue — unlike Gore, you are a summer) suit and your standard thin tie so that those clips achieve the same thing aesthetically that your actual presence at the debate would achieve in terms of signaling both plausibility and a contrast,” she wrote, later adding: “The takeaway should be that you are Rocky while the other candidates are Rocky and Bullwinkle.”

Later in the memo, Nuzzi suggested that Kennedy give an exclusive interview about his debate night plans to Fox News, with primetime host Jesse Watters her “first choice.”

“If he doesn’t go for it, I would forget primetime and offer it to ‘Fox & Friends,’ ‘The Five,’ or ‘Outnumbered,'” she said. “If Fox turns it down, I would offer it to Piers [Morgan] in conjunction with the Daily Mail, with an agreement about how long the story must stay on their homepage, and since they have British media ethics you can probably dictate — carefully — other terms about the tenor of the story. If they turn it down, which they won’t, as they love any excuse to use the ‘EXCLUSIVE’ banner, Newsmax or News Nation as a last resort.”

Nuzzi concluded the memo with a message of support to her paramour: “You are the best candidate, and the people who already know that came to that belief because they respect you and your ideas. Focus on your ideas. Just as you know what’s best for the country, you know best what you should do on your campaign, and whatever you decide, you’ll be great.

“I love you,” she added, affixing heart and kissing lips emojis at the end.

Lizza revealed the alleged memo one day after the publication of Nuzzi’s offbeat memoir “American Canto,” which was savaged by critics and commentators who questioned whether the former New York Magazine rising star — recently hired as Vanity Fair’s West Coast editor — had told all she knew about the controversial cabinet member.

The affair between Nuzzi and Kennedy, which she has claimed was never physically consummated, became public knowledge in September 2024, when she was placed on leave from New York Magazine, which announced her departure the following month.

Nuzzi issued her first public comment in response to Lizza’s Substack story detailing his side of the affair on Tuesday, accusing him of peddling “obsessive and violating fan fiction-slash-revenge porn” that “would never meet standards for publication at any legitimate outlet.”

“The allegations, made by a man I met when I was 19 years old, are another attempt to harass, humiliate and harm me until I am as destroyed as he seems to be,” she told busines journalist Emily Sundberg’s Feed Me newsletter.

“It is abuse that I am all too familar with now relocated to the public square and dressed up as some sort of noble crusade.”

Lizza responded: “Telling the truth is not harassment or abuse.”

Reps for Conde Nast, which Page Six reported is reviewing Nuzzi’s hiring at Vanity Fair in response to Lizza’s allegations, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
