Rep. Ilhan Omar invoked an anti-rape slogan as she shot down 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful John Delaney after he renewed his offer to debate Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez over universal health care.

“No means no!” Omar, a Minnesota Democrat, tweeted Wednesday at Delaney, a former Maryland congressman.

Omar was responding to a tweet from Delaney again challenging Ocasio-Cortez.

“At a minimum, we have to be tolerant of different views on achieving the same goal: universal healthcare,” Delaney tweeted Tuesday. “That’s why I responded to @aoc tweet with a debate offer. This isn’t about slogans – people’s lives are at stake. We need debates and the truth.”

Days earlier, Delaney tweeted to the Bronx and Queens Democrat: “Hey @AOC, we have the same goal, universal healthcare for everyone, we just have different ways of getting there. Healthcare is the #1 issue for voters, so let’s debate the way forward. Any show of your choosing. Healthcare is too important for tweets, we need real discussion.”

Delaney’s tweet was in response to Ocasio-Cortez’s tweet in which she told Delaney to “sashay away.”

“Since there’s so many people running for President (& not enough for Senate), instead of obsessing over who‘s a ‘frontrunner,’ maybe we can start w some general eliminations,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted, along with a clip showing Delaney saying at a Democratic convention: “Medicare for all may sound good but it’s actually not good policy nor is it good politics.”

Ocasio-Cortez continued: “This awful, untrue line got boo’ed for a full minute. John Delaney, thank you but please sashay away.”
