One helix of a letter
Sixty years ago, scientist Francis Crick wrote his 12-year-old son, Michael, a letter in which he said he and colleague James Watson had discovered something “very beautiful” — the structure of DNA.
That seven-page missive — with hand-drawn diagrams of DNA’s double-helix structure — is to be auctioned off April 10 by Christie’s and is expected to fetch $1 million or more.
