An Oregon man caught on camera attacking a jail guard has been sentenced to more than six years in prison, authorities said.
Footage of the attack showing Hayden Landry Davis assaulting a Washington County Jail deputy was released Wednesday as a judge sentenced him to 74 months in prison for the unprovoked assault and for breaking into a Beaverton home in February 2018, the Washington County District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday.
Davis is seen approaching the deputy, Daniel Guzman, on March 31 as he was held in a pod that allows inmates to roam freely during recreational time, authorities said.
Davis then launches himself at Guzman, setting off a wild fight that continues for nearly 20 seconds as other inmates look on. He was eventually subdued with help from a few other inmates, video shows.

Guzman said he’s still unclear as to why Davis, who was holding a wooden tongue depressor during the attack, ambushed him without saying a word.
“I don’t think I learned his name until about 40 minutes after the incident,” Guzman told KPTV.
Guzman suffered only minor injuries during the attack.
Davis, who pleaded guilty last week to assaulting Guzman, was also found guilty of first-degree attempted burglary and second-degree criminal mischief after authorities said he used a hammer to break into a home before a resident scared him off.
Davis, who was injured during the break-in and left his DNA at the scene, was later arrested not far from the home while wearing the same clothing as described by the victim, prosecutors said.
