Eighteen people were injured when a plane careered off the end of a Russian airport’s runway, drove into a riverbed and caught fire, Russian officials said.

An airport supervisor died of a heart attack at the scene of the Saturday incident in Sochi, according to Russia’s health ministry.

The Utair-operated Boeing 737 from Moscow, carrying 164 passengers and six crew members, was landing.

The airport said the fire was extinguished within eight minutes.

The cause of the crash has not been determined.
