Paris’ bomb squad is investigating after a car rammed into a police van then burst into flames on the Champs-Elysees Monday morning, according to reports.

The driver was armed but was knocked out cold in the collision, the BBC reports — and he’s “most probably” dead, Interior Ministry spokesman Pierre-Henry Brandet tells the Associated Press.

No one else was hurt, police said, but Brandet believes the driver likely acted deliberately.

The collision comes just months after terrorists killed a cop and wounded two others in an attack on the Champs Elysees in April.
