RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Authorities say police arrested a parolee after he was found driving the car of a woman who had been reported missing hours earlier in Southern California.

Riverside police Officer Ryan Railsback says investigators on Wednesday also located the body of a woman, but have not officially confirmed her identity as the missing person.

Railsback says the Riverside woman’s husband reported her missing after she didn’t return calls and failed to show up to work.

Police tracked down her car in nearby Corona later in the afternoon. It was being driven by Aaron Allen Aubrey, a transient from Riverside.

The 24-year-old was arrested on suspicion of auto theft, as well as a parole violation.

Police say detectives consider him a person of interest in the death of the woman found near Box Springs Mountain.
