SENECA, N.Y. — The Ontario County sheriff’s office has been looking for a truck involved in an accident that killed a 74-year-old New York woman.
WHEC says investigators planned to go to a landfill near the Town of Seneca on Monday.
They’ve been looking for a white tractor-trailer that apparently kicked up a large rock on Saturday. The rock smashed through a passing car’s windshield, killing a passenger, Barbara Amidon.
Deputies don’t believe anything criminal happened. But they want to provide as many answers as they can to Amidon’s loved ones.
Lt. David Cirencione says law enforcers live in the community — and the tragedy could have just as easily happened to one of their families.
