Vice President Mike Pence canceled plans for a Florida getaway this week to stay in Washington as President Trump continues to challenge election results, according to a report.
Pence, who appealed to GOP senators on Capitol Hill to stick by Trump on Tuesday, had been expected to travel to Sanibel, Fla., until Saturday, but dumped those plans, the Washington Post reported.
The time off was to begin two days after President-elect Joe Biden was projected to win the 2020 election after Pennsylvania’s results showed that he had surpassed the 270 Electoral College votes needed to win the White House.
The president has disputed the election count in the Keystone State and a number of other states — including Georgia, Michigan, Nevada and Wisconsin — as he alleges mail-in ballots resulted in fraud.
