Pete Buttigieg has revealed that he and his husband, Chasten, are now dads.

The secretary of transportation tweeted the news about their growing family Tuesday.

“For some time, Chasten and I have wanted to grow our family. We’re overjoyed to share that we’ve become parents!” the former South Bend, Ind., mayor tweeted.

“The process isn’t done yet and we’re thankful for the love, support, and respect for our privacy that has been offered to us. We can’t wait to share more soon.”

The couple, who have been married since 2018, did not elaborate on what that process was.

Chasten revealed to the Washington Post last month that they had been trying to adopt for a year now.

He said they were on lists that would allow them to quickly adopt a child who had been abandoned or surrendered.

Chasten — who is a teacher and writer — also said they had come so close on a number of occasions that they had picked out names and gone shopping for baby items.

“It’s a really weird cycle of anger and frustration and hope,” he said in the interview.

“You think it’s finally happening and you get so excited, and then it’s gone.”
