Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg said Monday his campaign had raised nearly $25 million in the second quarter.
That number is substantially higher than the $7 million Buttigieg raised in the first quarter.
”Thank you to the over 400,000 of you who have invested in this campaign, and who helped us raise over $24,800,000 this quarter alone,” he announced on Twitter. “You inspire us every step of the way, and we’re just getting started.”
The 37-year-old mayor of South Bend, Ind., said his campaign has 230,000 new donors, putting the total number of contributors at 400,000.
The average contribution in the second quarter was $47.42.
His campaign now has $22.6 million cash on hand.
Buttigieg was the first of the presidential hopefuls to announce his second-quarter take.
Candidates are required by the Federal Election Commission to file their fundraising numbers by July 15.
