Democratic presidential hopeful Mayor Pete Buttigieg downplayed Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s findings Thursday during an appearance on NBC’s “Late Night.”

“Politically, I’m not sure it will change much,” the South Bend, Ind., mayor told host Seth Meyers.

“It’s one more reminder that if we want to to send Trumpism into the history books, the best thing we can do is defeat it decisively at the ballot box in 2020,” he added.

Like many of his fellow 2020 Democratic candidates, Buttigieg blasted Attorney General William Barr’s pre-release briefing as “incredibly troubling.”

He said Barr “conducted himself as if he were the personal attorney for the president.”
