Billionaire Republican Peter Thiel has forked over his first six-figure donation in the 2018 midterm election cycle, according to new Federal Election Commission records.

Thiel, a venture capitalist and philanthropist, gave $101,700 to the RNC in July, CNBC reported — the largest amount he had donated to a political cause since the 2016 presidential election, according to the records.

He had previously donated more than $66,000 in September 2017 to the National Republican Congressional Committee, which works to elect GOP lawmakers to Congress, the network reported.

President Trump and his allies were fretting about Thiel’s recent silence, concerned that the PayPal co-founder and early Facebook investor would sit out this year’s midterms after Team Trump gave him the brush-off following the election.

The RNC raised $14.2 million through July, bringing its total for the 2018 election cycle to $227 million.
