A small plane crashed into a suburban Minnesota neighborhood Saturday afternoon, igniting an inferno that engulfed one home as shocked onlookers watched, according to video of the terrifying aftermath.
The Minneapolis-bound SOCATA TBM7 went down around 12:20 p.m. local time in a residential area in Brooklyn Park just minutes before it was expected to land, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
It remains unknown how many people were on board or if there were any survivors, the federal agency said.
A FAA spokesperson said the crash happened just before 12:30 p.m. Mike Deyo via StoryfulLocal authorities confirmed that no one inside the scorched house was injured. First responders were working to evacuate the area, officials said, according to local reports.
The single-engine business aircraft departed from Des Moines International Airport in Iowa around 11:12 a.m. local time and was en route to Anoka County-Blaine Airport in Minneapolis when it crashed roughly 11 miles from its destination, according to the FAA and FlightRadar24.
The flight had been expected to land around 12:36 p.m., FlightRadar24 showed.
Officials said that no one inside the home was injured. Mike Deyo via StoryfulVideo captured at the scene showed plumes of thick black smoke in the air around the burning house as observers watched fire crews and emergency responders attempt to extinguish the raging fire.
“My team is in touch with local officials on the scene in Brooklyn Park and we are monitoring the situation closely,” Minnesota Gov Tim Walz wrote in a post on X Saturday afternoon.

The cause of the crash remains unknown.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will lead the investigation.
