A vintage World War II fighter plane spiraled out of control and into the Atlantic off Ocean City, Md., not far from a beach where a seemingly unaware woman stood holding a baby.

The plane’s owner, Ocean City Police Officer Thomas Geoghegan, was taking fellow cop Joshua Adickes for a spin in the Chinese military plane when it crashed into the water Sunday, killing them both.
