Temperatures in the Midwest are hair-raising.
Frigid footage shows an Iowa woman’s wet hair freezing — and standing up straight on her head — Wednesday, when the low in Des Moines hit minus 20 degrees.
“Is Iowa really THAT cold?” Taylor Scallon captioned the clip.
The video shows Scallon laughing as she walks inside a house with her long brown locks sticking up toward the ceiling, Bride of Frankenstein-style.

“Omg my hair would break off!” one person commented.
The wind chill in the Hawkeye State dropped to minus 51 degrees this week, leading to the death of an 18-year-old University of Iowa student.
