There’s a police department in north England looking for a fresh recruit — but first … you gotta send them a selfie.

Job-seekers in Humberside are being asked to snap pictures of themselves and send them in before they even think about applying for the $137,000 position of deputy chief constable, according to the Metro UK.

“Vital candidates understand the importance of embracing new technology,” said Chief Constable Justine Curran, adding they had “invested heavily in new technology in a bid to modernize the way we work.”

Highlighted under the title “New Year, New You, New Force,” the recruitment campaign is aimed at bringing in people who will be able to fill big shoes — while also being tech-savvy.

Deputy chief constable “is a key role within the force,” Curran explained. “And as such, it is vital that potential candidates understand the importance of embracing new technology within Humberside Police at the point of applying for the role.”

“This is why we have created a recruitment advert that reflects our aims and ambitions as a force by encouraging candidates to get involved from the outset.”
