This tot wasn’t resisting a rest.
A police officer is getting national attention for rushing to the aid of a distressed victim — a child who lost his parents and needed a hug.
Officer David Taylor was patrolling the International Rice Festival in Crowley, Louisiana, when a woman brought over the crying and scared boy.
“He was extremely upset … I put him on my shoulders to see if he would be able to see his parents,” Taylor told ABC News.

During the half-hour it took to find the boy’s mother, the child had calmed down and fallen asleep.
“What I was doing is nothing different from the rest of our law enforcement colleagues,” Taylor said. “The only difference is that someone took a photo of me.”
“I think it’s awesome because we hear so much negative things about our police officers today so I’m happy to say that I’ve seen something that’s a positive image,” Carolyn Senegal, who recently moved to Crowley, told KLFY.
“That’s an officer going above and beyond the call of duty.”
