Vice President Kamala Harris delivered her last stump speech before Election Day in front of the steps made famous by the movie “Rocky,” calling them a “tribute to those who start as the underdog and climb to victory.”
Harris, 60, has regularly referred to herself as the “underdog” in her race against former President Donald Trump – but on Monday night, in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, she declared that “momentum is on our side.”
“However, the race ain't over yet and we must finish strong,” the Democratic nominee cautioned. “And this could be one of the closest races in history. Every single vote matters.”
“[W]e need everyone to vote in Pennsylvania, and you will decide the outcome of this election, Pennsylvania,” Harris said of the crucial swing state.
Oprah Winfrey, Jon Bon Jovi, Lady Gaga and Will I Am were among the celebrities that appeared at Harris’ final event on the campaign trail.
The vice president’s final speech clocked in at about 18 minutes and followed a short 9 minute speech in Pittsburgh hours earlier.
Harris also spoke for about 7 minutes in Scranton, Pa., and for around 20 minutes in Allentown, Pa., earlier in the day, as she barnstormed the Keystone State – which has 19 Electoral College votes up for grabs on Tuesday.
Former President Donald Trump leads Harris in Pennsylvania by 0.4 percentage points, according to the latest RealClearPolitics average of polls.
Her short speeches stand in stark contrast to Trump, 78, who delivered remarks for nearly 2 hours in his penultimate campaign speech in Pittsburgh earlier on Monday.
The Trump campaign mocked Harris over her short remarks.
“Low Energy [Harris’] first three speaking events today were, well, pretty darn short,” Trump campaign senior adviser Jason Miller wrote on X, ahead of the vice president’s speech in the City of Brotherly Love.
