Joe Biden and Barack Obama joined forces for a new campaign video Thursday in which they pontificated about their achievements in the White House and criticized President Trump’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

The 15-minute gabfest, dubbed “A Socially Distanced Conversation,” was shot in Obama’s DC office and shows the men sitting six feet apart in leather recliners as they reminisce about the Affordable Care Act, the pandemic office they created in the White House, and other laws they passed during their eight years in power.

The campaign clip was part interview, part endorsement as the former president probed his loyal veep, who is leading in the polls, on how he would fix a cratering US economy while repeatedly praising Biden as Trump’s natural replacement to handle the COVID-19 crisis.

“I have confidence that you’re going to actually listen to the experts and you’re going to pay attention to the science and you’re not going to quit on trying to actually bend down the curve of disease and transmission rates,” Obama says.

Referring to him only as “this guy,” Biden, 77, repeatedly needles Trump for trying to overturn ObamaCare in the Supreme Court and accuses him of lacking empathy.

“This guy’s in court in the middle of a pandemic trying to take away protection from 100 million people that have pre-existing conditions. I don’t think he has any sense of empathy, I don’t think he has any sense at all,” Biden says.

Trump blasted the video in a tweet shortly after it went online, saying the pair did a “terrible job” and noting the fact that Obama gave his veep a very belated endorsement in April.

“Obama, who wouldn’t even endorse Biden until everyone else was out of the primaries (and even then waited a long time!), is now making a commercial of support. Remember, I wouldn’t even be here if it weren’t for them. I wouldn’t be President. They did a terrible job!” he wrote.

Obama and Biden speak about a host of issues including the Black Lives Matter movement, the US economy and, of course, the Affordable Care Act.

“I couldn’t be prouder of what we got done. Twenty million have health insurance that didn’t have it because of what we did,” says Obama, 58.

The highly produced video is the second time the men have collaborated publicly since Obama’s April endorsement, and more cameos by the former president are expected, lending significant firepower to the humdrum Biden campaign.

He will also host a virtual fundraiser for Biden next week, where tickets are expected to fetch up to $250,000, while former first lady Michelle Obama will also hit the trail for him.

Biden’s campaign has milked the video for all it’s worth, teasing a promo clip Wednesday and labeling it on Twitter as “44 + 46,” implying that Biden will become the 46th president of the United States.

As the video draws to a close, Biden hits the sitting president for his leadership style, again referring to him only as “this guy” while accusing him of setting a bad example for young Americans.

“This guy has generated a sense out there that people are waking up to that he ran by deliberately dividing people from the moment he came down that escalator, and I think people are now going, ‘I don’t want my kid to grow up that way.'”

The clip ends with Obama giving another weighty endorsement to Biden as images flash on the screen of Biden hugging children and glad-handing voters.

“The thing I’ve got confidence in, Joe, is your heart and your character and the fact that you are going to be able to reassemble the kind of government that cares about people and that brings people together,” “44” says.

“And for all the specific policies that we’re going to need, more than anything it’s just that basic decency and understanding of what’s best in America that I think people are going to be hungry for,” he continues.
