Former Vice President Joe Biden doesn’t think President Trump should be impeached “right now.”
Speaking to “CBS This Morning,” the 75-year-old said: “I don’t think there’s a basis for doing that right now.”
“I think we should focus on all the terrible things that are happening now in terms of interest of the middle class people and working class people,” Biden added.
The former VP — dubbed “Sleepy Joe” by the commander-in-chief — said he felt it would be wrong for Democrats to move forward with articles of impeachment, should they retake the House of Representatives in the midterm elections.
“I hope they don’t,” Biden said. “There are so many things to attend to immediately.”
Asked whether he thought special counsel Robert Mueller should publish his final report on the Russia probe before the midterms, Biden said: “I think it should be issued when they finish the investigation.”
“I’ve been around a long time,” Biden explained. “You wait until the investigation’s finished. You don’t put an arbitrary end to it. You wait until it’s finished. And let’s see what it has to say.”
