WASHINGTON — President Biden referred to Vice President Kamala Harris as “president” at a Monday White House event honoring the Stanley Cup-winning Vegas Golden Knights.

“Welcome to the White House, the 2023 Stanley Cup champion Vegas Golden Knights!” said Biden, who turns 81 on Nov. 20.

“President Harris is here to make sure we do this the right way.”

Biden has made the same error in at least six prior public appearances.

Harris, a former California senator and state attorney general, sat in the front row of the East Room event.

Biden is the country’s oldest-ever president and is seeking a second four-year term next year.

Former President Donald Trump, 77, is the front-runner for the Republican nomination.

Harris, 59, would become president if Biden resigns, dies or is otherwise incapacitated while in office.

David Axelrod, former chief strategist to President Barack Obama, said Sunday that Biden’s public remarks are a major concern for Democrats as critics accuse him of being in mental decline.

“In front of the camera, what he’s projecting is causing people concerns, and that is worrisome,” Axelrodsaid on CNN.

A New York Times poll released Nov. 5 found 71% of swing-state voters say Biden is “too old to be an effective president,” while just 39% said the same of Trump.
