Actress Hannah Einbinder blasted California Governor Gavin Newsom on Wednesday, calling him "Gruesom Newsom" in a social media post.

The "Hacks" actress took to her Instagram story, calling out Newsom and the Democratic Party for vilifying "queer people and marginalized communities."

She also shared another Instagram story post on Wednesday, superimposing Newsom's photo onto an image from the 2004 comedy "Mean Girls."

The scene from the film featured the infamous "burn book," where Rachel McAdams' Regina George called herself, "the nastiest skank bitch ever" and a "fugly slut," to trick Lindsay Lohan's Cady Heron.

Einbinder simply replaced Regina George's image with a photo of Newsom.

Republican Rep. Young Kim on Wednesday accused Gov. Gavin Newsom of being “asleep at the wheel” while the Golden State is “ground zero for fraud.”  

The congresswoman, who has represented California’s 40th District since 2023, made the accusation on X while sharing a clip of President Trump railing against the alleged rampant fraud in Democratic-run Minnesota during his State of the Union address Tuesday night. 

Kim also slammed Democrats throwing “tantrums” in a previous post, and said “America is strong at home and abroad” while touting “secure borders, historic tax cuts and rising wages, crime at record lows and America respected again.” 

The 40th District includes parts of Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside counties, since 2023. Kim previously served the 39th District. 

A Central Valley lawmaker is demanding the resignation of California’s embattled High Speed Rail CEO Ian Choudri after a domestic violence arrest and conflict-of-interest questions surrounding the fast rail boondoggle — calling his continued leadership an “insult” to taxpayers in a letter to Gov. Gavin Newsom.

“Given his arrest and the allegations against him, Mr. Choudri’s continued tenure would irreparably damage the public’s trust in their government,” wrote Rep. Alexandra Macedo, who represents parts of the San Joaquin Valley that overlap with the troubled project.

Choudri has been on leave since last week after it was revealed that he was arrested over a domestic violence dispute involcing his fiancée and teenage daughter — just hours after he appeared at a press conference with Newsom touting the completion of a 150-acre construction facility meant to help accelerate the project.

“The recent arrest of your hand-picked CEO Ian Choudri for domestic violence, in a case that reportedly involved abuse of a child, coupled with alarming details regarding financial ties between his fiancée and a key contractor, makes his continued leadership not only untenable, but also an insult to every taxpayer in the Central Valley and throughout the State of California,” Macedo wrote in the letter dated Feb. 25.

Three Democratic women state legislators are using Wednesday’s concert for progressive hip-hop star Cardi B as a fundraiser.

A report on campaign fundraisers shows that state Assemblymembers Blanca Rubio, Jessica Caloza and Tina McKinnor — who each represent parts of Los Angeles — are all charging thousands of dollars for tickets to Cardi’s concert at Golden One Center in Sacramento.

It’s not unusual for politicians to tie fundraisers to concerts or sporting events, but anyone complaining about online ticket bots jacking up prices should get a look at these political scalpers.

Caloza’s campaign is offering a single ticket for $3,000, while McKinnor’s price point is $2,500 a head. Meanwhile, Rubio’s campaign is charging $3,000 per ticket — or $5,000 for two — for the performance.

President Donald Trump called out former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi during his State of the Union address Tuesday, urging lawmakers to pass a ban on congressional stock-trading — an issue that has long been a source of criticism for the California lawmaker.

“Let’s also ensure that members of Congress cannot corruptly profit from using insider information,” Trump said, before adding, “Did Nancy Pelosi stand up? … Doubt it.”

While Pelosi said she doesn’t trade or personally own stocks, her venture capitalist husband Paul does, and has grown the power couple’s wealth exponentially during her congressional career. 

The 85-year-old, who critics argue benefitted from insider information as one of the most influential politicians, pushed back on the President’s jab, telling Trump to “look at your own self.”

California Gov. Gavin Newsom spent his night responding to President Donald Trump's State of the Union address with a slew of X posts, with one in particular catching the attention of Republican Steve Hilton, a candidate in the upcoming race for California governor.

"Under Donald Trump: GDP growth was down from 4.4% to 1.4% last quarter. Unemployment is up. Energy bills are up. And Donald Trump is enforcing an illegal tax on the American people," Newsom posted.

That prompted a quick response from Hilton.

"Under Gavin Newsom Unemployment is the highest in America. Poverty is the highest in America. Cost of living is the highest in America. Gavin Newsom is MUGA: the Most Useless Governor in America," Hilton clapped back.

Hilton has been a staunch critic of Newsom's policies and how they affect the Golden State. He recently took a surprising lead in a California governor's race poll conducted by the Emerson College Polling/Inside California Politics survey.

President Trump called for an end to insider trading in Congress and took a shot at Rep. Nancy Pelosi, who scowled back in return.

"They stood up for that — I can't believe it," Trump exclaimed after some Democrats stood in support of his call to restrict insider trading in Congress.

"Did Nancy Pelosi stand up for that?" he added.

Pelosi, who is sitting next to Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) has been taking notes during Trump's speech.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom promoted his crude, anti-Trump campaign merchandise store Tuesday during a New York City book event, which required even virtual attendees to buy his memoir for entry. 

“Forgive me, because I know our time is limited, but, you know, I started a patriot’s store,” Newsom said near the end of the event at the Temple Emanu-El Streicker Cultural Center.

“I have new Trump Signature Series kneepads now,” the Democratic governor said of the red, $100 joint cushions he’s been hawking online.
