Inauguration weekend is on the horizon, and you’re either celebrating or commiserating, depending on your politics.
Either way, the weekend won’t be filled with the usual celebrity-meets-business-meets-politics parties. The party circuit is expected to be a lot more muted than in prior years.
The Creative Coalition will throw a bash with a host of celebs, including John Leguizamo, Christina Hendricks and Cheryl Hines at the Harman Center.
PETA, the animal rights organization, will throw a party featuring Mary Matalin and Pamela Anderson, according to DC outlets.
Capitol File and Ernst & Young are getting together with the Artists and Athletes Alliance to party the night away at an event themed as a “Celebration of Service” at Fiola Mare restaurant.
Performing at the “Make America Great Again! Welcome Celebration” are: “America’s Got Talent,” star Jackie Evancho, Toby Keith and the band 3 Doors Down. Jennifer Holliday was all set to perform, but pulled out on Saturday.
The inauguration will be live streamed on President-elect Donald Trump’s favorite media platform, Twitter, which is partnering with PBS to present the civic ceremony.
Facebook, meanwhile, is having a Love-A-Thon to raise money for civil liberties, with celebrities including Jane Fonda appearing.
