China reportedly ramped up the ongoing trade war with the US on Friday, announcing it will impose new tariffs on $75 billion worth of American products.

The communist country will also resume duties on American cars, according to CNBC.

China’s State Council’s Customs Tariff Commission said the tariffs, which range from 5 percent to 10 percent on US goods, will be implemented on Sept. 1 and Dec. 15, the report said.

The retaliatory move comes as President Trump has vowed to impose 10 percent penalties on an additional $300 billion in Chinese goods — a move that would cover nearly all of China’s exports to the US — beginning Sept. 1.

But last Tuesday, he said he would hold off on adding penalties on about 60 percent of those goods until Dec. 15.
