Democrats now in charge of House of Representatives committees are wasting no time to go on the offensive against the Trump administration.

Rep. Bennie Thompson, the new chair of the Homeland Security Committee, asked Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen to appear before the panel. Friday night’s request came after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi last week told Nielsen, “I reject your facts.”

Department of Homeland Security data shows 3,755 known or suspected terrorists were stopped at the US-Mexico border in 2017.

That statistic and others are “yet another example of the misinformation and outright lies” from the executive branch, Thompson, of Mississippi, said a day after becoming chair.

Dems have announced plans to investigate everything from Trump’s finances to his most controversial policies.
