Discovery Communications chief David Zaslav, a Sun Valley regular, told The Post he remains “optimistic that the Trump administration’s stated goal of light-touch regulation will be beneficial to all of media and US business more broadly.”
On the other end of the spectrum, Barry Diller, the chairman of IAC/InterActiveCorp and Expedia, didn’t mince his anti-Trump words. When asked early on Wednesday what issues he’d raise if he ran into Ivanka Trump and Jared Kusher, the White House power couple expected here, he told CNBC, “Utterly none. What would be the point to bring up issues to [pass along to] somebody who has no curiosity, who doesn’t listen, etc.”
Yet, ever the gentleman, Diller acknowledged he can’t blame the couple for what he called “the current situation.”
“So I’ll just say hello,” he said.
Trump and Kushner are expected to attend the mogulfest’s Thursday sessions alongside Shari Redstone, non-executive head of Viacom, Apple CEO Tim Cook, and Rupert Murdoch, executive chairman of News Corp., the owner of The Post, Fox Business reported.
