All of Donald Trump’s bluster about weak evidence and political opportunism wasn’t enough to keep him out of court over claims that he’s running a fly-by-night real-estate school.
A Manhattan Supreme Court judge ruled Tuesday that the mogul’s bitter battle with state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman over Trump University must be decided at trial.
Schneiderman sued Trump for $40 million in 2013, charging the school made false claims to cheat students out of their $35,000 tuition.
Since then, Trump has dismissed Schneiderman on Twitter as a “lightweight” who tried to solicit political donations from his daughter, Ivanka.
Justice Cynthia Kern denied motions by both sides asking for pre-trial rulings. Trump had wanted the case dismissed. Schneiderman wanted more documents, including advertisements, seminar transcripts and compliance reviews.
Trump, meanwhile, is also at war over a coveted Internet domain name.
A California man, Scott Stephens, is suing Trump and his top deputy for $82 million after they blasted him as an opportunistic “cyber squatter” for his control of the TrumpEstates.com name.
Stephens, who bought the domain in 2004, claims the description harmed his reputation.
