A day after meeting with President-elect Donald Trump, charter-school executive Eva Moskowitz said she officially withdrew herself Thursday from consideration for education secretary.
“I will not be entertaining any prospective opportunities,” she said. “I believe I can best serve our country’s children by continuing to expand Success Academies.”
Moskowitz, who also said she voted for Hillary Clinton and was “frankly disappointed” with the election outcome, still praised Trump’s support for the charter model.
“I will work with him and whoever he selects as next education secretary to increase educational opportunities for American families,” she said.
