President Trump was prevented from visiting the heavily militarized border with North Korea due to inclement weather on the peninsula.

Trump — who had hedged on whether he would make the ceremonial visit — decided to take the surprise trek Wednesday morning local time.

Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders assembled reporters early in the morning and alerted them to the visit by holding a sign that read “DMZ.”

The president, along with an entourage and the assembled reporters, headed to the border area in a group of helicopters.

They were alerted about the bad weather call due to dense fog and turned back about 20 minutes into the journey.
