Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is warning Miami residents that Spanish language radio stations bought by a George Soros-backed group plan to spread “disinformation” over their airwaves.

DeSantis released several radio spots in Spanish to alert residents to the “purchase of Hispanic radio stations meant to disinform the community.”

“Warning!” the ad states in Spanish. “The left is taking control of our local media.”

Stephanie Valencia, a former Obama administration staffer, and Jess Morales Rocketto, who worked on the Hillary Clinton’ presidential campaign, told Axios recently that their new Spanish-language radio portfolio will reach one-third of all Hispanics living in America.

Axios reported that the prime investor in the venture is Lakestar Finance, “an investment entity affiliated with Soros Fund Management.”

Actress Eva Longoria is also investing in the project.

In addition to Miami, the Latino Media Network will also reach residents in New York, Los Angeles, Houston and Chicago.

The DeSantis ads hope to preempt the influence of the stations on Florida’s sizable Hispanic population before it takes root.

Republicans have long viewed Miami’s Cuban population as a reliable repository of votes and want to further expand their appeal with Hispanics.

“They are coming with their ideological agenda,” the DeSantis spot states. “Soros and his minions know what this community represents in the fight against socialism in America. This community will not get confused. Under Governor Ron DeSantis’s leadership Florida is standing against the corporate media and leftist disinformation.”

Valencia told Axios that the stations will help to expand Hispanic influence in America.

“So often our stories have been erased or invisible,” she said. “In some ways, you wouldn’t know that Latinos will be the principal part of the U.S. population in our lifetime. Us being able to bring a sense of belonging, influence and power to this community is incredibly important.”
