Gun-control activists are taking aim at an event billed as a “President Trump Thank You Dinner” in Pennsylvania — where an AR-15 assault rifle will be raffled.

Larry Pratt, executive director of Gun Owners of America, is scheduled to speak at the Saturday dinner, which is sponsored by Kahr Arms and conservative religious group Rod of Iron Ministries.

Ed Gragert, chairman of the Delaware Valley Democratic Club, said a vigil will be held outside the Best Western Hotel in Matamoras before the 6 p.m. dinner, the Times Herald-Record reported.

It is one of several events gun control activists in Pennsylvania are planning “at this time of mourning and actions concerning the deaths in Florida with an AR-15,” Gragert said.

He said the protesters will share the names of the 14 students and three staffers who were killed in the shooting at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.

Gun Owners of America, which has 1.5 million members, has occasionally differed with the much-larger National Rifle Association, accusing it of wavering on gun rights.

The Rod of Iron Ministries takes its name from the “Rod of Iron” passage in the Book of Revelation.

Fliers for the dinner feature a semiautomatic rifle superimposed against a US flag.
