Hope Hicks, a longtime aide to President Trump and former White House communications director, is returning to the West Wing as a staffer for Jared Kushner, according to a report on Thursday.

The 31-year-old Hicks, who worked on Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign before following him to the White House, will report to Kushner, who is married to Trump’s daughter Ivanka, and will be given the title “counselor to the president,” the New York Times reported.

A senior administration official told the publication that Hicks will work on Trump’s re-election campaign, as well as other projects Kushner oversees. She will also work with White House political director Brian Jack.

Hicks will not rejoin the communications office.

“There is no one more devoted to implementing President Trump’s agenda than Hope Hicks,” Kushner said in a statement to the newspaper. “We are excited to have her back on the team.”

Hicks resigned in March 2018 and announced in October 2018 that she would become chief communications officer at Fox.
